Folks may wish to read the Open Source Initiative (Eric Raymond) on
the suit. Apparently the prepared an amicus brief, which then became
their postion paper.

"This position paper is written in specific response to SCO's
complaint [1] filed on the 6th of March 2003 in the Third Judicial
District of Salt Lake County, State of Utah.

"It is not within OSI's competence or knowledge to address the
specifics of the business relationship between SCO and IBM, or the
terms of their contract. It is, however, very much within our
competence to observe that SCO's complaint depends critically on
certain historical and technical assertions which are materially
false and (apparently quite intentionally) misleading.

"Unlike SCO's complaint, we have provided direct hyperlinks to
browseable versions of all the sources which back our facts.

"In this position paper, we focus on the following
    allegations:..."

Apparently, I was wrong in aserting that SCO owns the trademark on the
word Unix. "Legally, the term 'Unix' has been since 1992 a trademark
of the Open Group,..." I sit corrected.
