Printing from Linux to Windows

I asked a question or two before about printing from RedHat 8.0 to an
Epson Stylus C82 on Windows XP. It's still not working!
In the meantime, I did, however, purchase an iMac, and was able to
download from linuxprinting.org some Gimp-print files and was able to
get the iMac printing to the Windows printer in minutes! All I had to
do was:
1) install the Ghostscript and Gimp-print packages
2) specify the IP address and share name under IP Printing
3) Choose the driver from the list (it uses CUPS, BTW)
I wish it were that easy in Linux!
Is there something similar I can do to get things working in RH8?
LPRng is, by default, the printing service that's installed. If I
need to change that to CUPS, I'll need to know how to do that too.
I would appreciate any suggestions you may have. Thanks.
