As for my experiences with linux, I actually have better hardware=20
compatibility with linux on my systems, than I had with windows, and it=20
allows me to use it the way I want to use it.  And I'm not talking old=20
hardware here either (although that works better too). =20

As for ease of use, things have really changed a lot in the last while.  A=

good experience for me, was when my wife recently got an ibook.  We turned =

on, and it auto-picked up my cups printer, and she quickly had access to my=

nfs shares.  Life is good, and easy.

I can't say much for RH 8, which you tried.  I stopped using RH on my own=20
systems a while ago.  Maybe others can help more with that, maybe RH 9 is=20
your answer.  Maybe trying Mandrake or Suse would be a better idea.  Plenty=

of locals have copies, or there are sites where you can download from if yo=
u=20
want.
