Most older soundblaster cards are cheap, and have great support in both.

Strange, while I haven't used TB before myself, I've heard they have linux=
=20
support.  As mentioned, maybe updating to 9 would help, but also, asking=20
senhor google gave me a decent list of links, including some discussing the=
=20
drivers.

googled for 'Turtle Beach Pinnacle Linux Driver'..
