Chuck,

Welcome to the list. Just so we understand where you are coming from:

>I'm having trouble configuring a printer, or even seeing the files on my
Windows box.

One thing at a time. :)

Are you trying to set up the Linux box as a print server? If so, does
printing work directly from the Linux box? With the mention of "files" I'm
guessing that we are looking at just the print server part of the equation.
Then your problem is a samba one. Of course, I would get the printer
working with the right drivers before trying to get the share working.

What printing system are you using? LPRng or CUPS?

To some it might also be helpful to know what distro you're using. Not that
there is a huge difference in what the answer might be, but some people feel
real comfortable using "their" distro and might be able to help with distro
specific tips. The big difference will not be what the fix is but what
configuration tools might be available.

I'm guessing that a good SAMBA link or two will be the most help. Here is
one that I found very useful:

Good luck,
Gabriel
