I have an interesting hosting thought for you all.

I work for a hoster and I have watched this industry for some time. I have
seen from time to time you all want to form an ISP. Why not start by being
a reseller for some hoster? I am not just saying this for eclipse, it
really does not matter what hoster you pick. Here is the opportunity for
the group. Pick a hoster to be a reseller for. Make the main account the
plug account. Then if members want an account ( website ) give them the
bottom price. Example at eclipse you pay 7.95 a month for a basic account
as a reseller which goes for 11.95 normally. I think you all can see the
beauty of that. Here is the kicker. If anyone in the group wants to create
websites for clients on the side they can do so but why not charge full
price for the customer. Then split the profit with plug 50/50 on the
discounted cost. All the maintainence that the member provides, programming
and sitework is his to keep. This could provide for some neat things for
plug and cash for the members. I think you may even be able to get the
hoster to donate the main site to plug. Now it may not be millions and
millions but it may give some the opportunity to be webmasters in a small
scale that they may not have had the opportunity to do. I may also
accomplish some of the dreams I have seen out here. This was a thought
spawned out of seeing you all looking for cheap alternatives for hosting.
Why not make it a group effort? Just a wierd thought I had.
