Parental Control

I've got a couple of questions about parental control.  First of all, does anyone know if the LDS church has in its plans a program to offer free parental control software or proxy services so that members and non-members can easily keep offensive websites and other material out of their homes?  I've always thought this would be a useful thing if the church offered it - also a useful missionary tool.  If not, perhaps some of you who lurk the list who work at Church Offices can put in a good word for me. ;-)

Secondly, does anyone know of any good hardware-solutions for parental control that stand between your computer and the internet to filter out offensive content?  I was thinking of something that could dynamically download updates from the web, etc.

I'd be interested to see everyone's input in these matters.
